Repossession Title State: Repossession Title and repossessor License
information refer to: Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, 60 State
St., Wethersfield, Connecticut 06109
Connecticut Recording: All repo lien instruments relating to repossession
motor vehicles must be recorded within twenty days with the repo Motor
Vehicle Department of the State of Connecticut. Uniform Commercial Code in
effect, October, 1961.
Repossession Recovery: Peaceful repossession permitted. Police Department
must be notified immediately after taking in Connecticut.
Repossession Redemption: Debtor can redeem repossession within fifteen
days after taking by payment of entire balance due to repossessor if there
has been no notification of intent to Take; if so, no repossession
redemption in Connecticut .
Repo Deficiency: 60% of the purchase price warrants public repo sale with
no notice. Less than 60% of purchase price paid, then private repo sale is
allowed in Connecticut.
Special Motor Vehicle Provisions: None.
Connecticut Documents Required to Transfer Ownership of repo Motor
Vehicle: Certificate of title, affidavit of repossession and a notarized
Bill of Sale or Connecticut Q-1 form.
Repo Plates: Must be returned to the State of Connecticut if not
transferred to another vehicle by the owner or Repossessor.
